Human Transport Control Unit

The team was responsible for a variety of tasks on the Segway™ Human Transport Control Unit (CU).  CUs are based on a Texas Instruments TMS320LF2406A DSP based motor control microcomputer.   The Segway™/µPD team worked with TI to incorporate the new ICs as they became available.  They provide the computational power to implement closed-loop motor control and balance computation, as well as system level tasks (communications, etc.) in real-time.  Initial development was done using the TMS320LF2407A components.   Our tasks included:
